Just as Storm Claudia swept through the north-west the night before, the home side swept the visitors away at the Etihad. It was a statement 3-0 triumph for Andrée Jeglertz’s side owing to goals from Knaak, Shaw and Lauren Hemp. It was a display that truly announced their title credentials as they strengthened their standing at the top of the table.

Successive Losses for Manchester United

This scoreline represented back-to-back WSL defeats for Marc Skinner’s side for the maiden instance since May 2024, leaving them a sizable gap off the table toppers with their championship aspirations hanging by a thread.

Lineup Adjustments
