Hazbin Hotel's Showrunner Has Seen Fans' Second Season Predictions — With Some Positive Updates

The much-anticipated second season of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel launches on Prime Video soon, and audience theories has been widespread.

Season 1 introduces a diverse group of characters living within Hell and Heaven, pits them against each other with songs about their clashes, and establishes tense rivalries and emotional bonds that fuel audience devotion.

The fandom's stated hopes for season 2 differ greatly, but certain themes emerge over and over: Will a fan-favorite character escape his tormentor? Might we learn more about the binding agreement constraining Alastor the Radio Demon? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Naturally, I don't produce the show with audience demands as the main goal," the showrunner commented recently. "But I believe that me being a fan of my own show implies there's a lot of it just naturally. I also want to see these things, and I want some of these things to occur, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator says her long-term vision is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have already been green-lit by the production companies, which produce the series.

That might mean fans have to be patient for some of the biggest payoffs — but they may be surprised at how quickly season 2 moves, and how many of what they're anticipating unfolds now.

"I believe people are going to be highly satisfied," the creator notes. "There are several debut moments. I think we receive some really amazing reveals, some fascinating backstories, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear additional musical numbers from the previously silent cast members."

The creator is well-informed of the theories and desires about season 2 — especially in the format of fan bingo cards.

"I've come across a few fans create a bingo card about the new season," she says. "Obviously I won't share it, but I've already completed a few items, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 premieres on Prime Video on Oct. 29.
