It's difficult for the Australian squad to set fresh records.

The top summits have already been conquered.

We're talking about the squad that has won seven Cricket World Cups, along with an additional six T20 titles, and earlier maintained 1,294 days undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, those for the achievement hunters, are what's still available for a team that has accomplished all there is.

The fact it required up to Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase exceeding 300, regaining their record for the biggest in the women's 50-over format, is, frankly, a compliment to the bowlers that have sported the yellow jersey over the last half-century.

It's difficult for their batsmen to maintain a record if never given the possibility.

Finally, the outcome of Australia conceding 330 was skipper Alyssa Healy receiving a platform to create her newest gem.

Initially recognized as the teenage relative of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after Australia failed to win either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups conducted earlier and has experienced everything through 15 trophy-laden years since.

Success in the T20 World Cup arrived three months after her bow and seven international trophies have come from 10 efforts across formats.

The tough gloveman was also there in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India momentarily interrupted the successful run.

That loss "motivated us to reevaluate our levels," Healy stated recently.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the championship match and was awarded tournament MVP. She ensured her country would not come up short.

If this newest brilliant performance topped that previous effort remains open for discussion.

Some will argue the case for final game tension. Others can counter with the test that comes when confronting a historic chase and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What's clear is this ton was much more difficult to see coming.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 happened while she topped the run-scoring charts, but this innings came after six matches in India since the start of last month in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"If you've observed me in training, it was a frustrating experience because it appeared I lacked timing completely," said Healy.

"But once you step out on the field, your competitive instincts kick in and you just lock into the contest."

Healy's competitive nature has always been her major advantage - and a priceless quality in taking over from iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, dismissed by the 22-year-old seamer in each encounter, but here that only provided Healy's spark.

A single was taken off the bowler's initial ball and from that point the batsman was underway.

"An opportunity to go out there and engage in competition with her and merely enjoy the moment in that regard, sort of got me going," stated Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 balls - her swiftest at the global tournament - and her century in 84 balls as she punished short deliveries, hitting 21 fours and three big hits.

By the time she was removed her side needed 66 more at one run per ball - an achievable target now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"To chase 330 is unfamiliar ground so I'm happy we have the confidence to do that now," added Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it again but, if necessary, we believe we can do it."

That comment will be the final thing rival teams at this championship should hear.

Over the past five days a belief they will triumph from any situation has grown stronger - this victory coming after success over Pakistan by 107 run margin despite struggling at 76-7 at one stage.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a meeting with old rivals England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final berth may likely be confirmed.

During that phase they left the previous year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - an encounter Healy was absent due to torn tissue in her foot as she led her country for the initial instance at an important competition.

So great is her will, she subsequently stated she wanted to have participated through the pain.

Yet even as she afterwards confessed those injuries have postponed plans to retire, this championship is likely to be her final tournament as skipper in one-day cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a global event as captain.

Success in India would lead her to the peak of her ultimate challenge.
